Keep Kids Safe - Garage Door Safety Month
To promote garage door safety, the Door & Access Systems Manufacturers Association (DASMA) and the International Door Association (IDA) have designated June as Garage Door Safety Month.
We all take our garage doors for granted. We expect them to open when we press the remote, and we expect them to close when we press the wall station inside the garage.
The fact of the matter is that your garage door is the largest moving object in your home which needs periodic inspection and maintenance to keep it safe. Can you imagine driving your car for over a year without changing the oil? Think about your garage door the same way.
Springs, cables, rollers, pulleys and other door hardware are under extremely high tension. If they show signs of wear, it's important to have them repaired or replaced by an accredited technician.
It's not a question IF the components will break, but WHEN.
It is also important that children not play near moving doors and that they keep their hands and fingers clear of section joints, hinges, springs, and other door parts. Garage door wall stations and transmitters should be kept out of the reach of small children.
We'd like to help you keep your family safe this summer by presenting a special offer for a garage door tune up for just $49.00 (parts needed extra).
I wish you and your families a fun and safe summer.
All the Best,
Diane Fagan
