What is the IDEA?
IDEA stands for the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation. It was founded in 1996 by three major trade associations (the International Door Association, the Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association, and the American Rolling Door Institute) to recognize high standards of performance in the industry.
Who is accredited?
At Fagan Door, we are proud to say that Diane Fagan is accredited by the IDEA. Moreover, we are pleased to say that Diane, who tested for and earned her accreditation in 2001, was the first woman in the Northeast to do so. Additionally, Fagan Door itself was the first garage company in Rhode Island to seek and earn IDEA accreditation.
What does this mean for you?
When you’re searching for a service provider for your garage door and opener, an IDEA accreditation stands out as a sign of excellence. After all, obtaining this accreditation is no easy feat. In order to earn IDEA accreditation, applicants must pass (among others) the following qualifications:
- Complete a six-part study course that includes all aspects of the residential and commercial door and access systems industry
- Pass six written examinations
- Provide documentation concerning insurance coverage, proper tax registration, business tenure, and reputation.
Applicants include any companies that sell, service, and install overhead doors and access systems. Knowing that Fagan Door is IDEA accredited means that you can be sure that we have been scrutinized and evaluated for quality - and that you are getting only the best service possible!
