Surge protectors are used to protect common household appliances such as computers and TV's, from sustaining damage due to power surges. Don't forget that your garage door opener is also an appliance.
Power surges can be caused by power outages and when lightning strikes too close to an electrical pole. Although not foolproof, surge protection will offer significant protection in most cases.
For an investment as little as $20, a surge protector can save you hundreds of dollars in potential repair costs. And remember to check your surge protector at least two times per year to make sure that it is still operating. Many surge protectors have indicators to let you know when it's time to be replaced.
Fagan Door is committed to helping our customers by offering preventative solutions to keep your garage door and garage door opener running smoothly.
